
Dr. James Turrell's heroes include explorers, philosophers and spiritual teachers such as Jesus, Buddha, Mahatma Gandhi and His Holiness Dalai Lama. In 1963, He was a senior in high school.
While attending a summer music camp he heard USC Brass Choir play Aaron Copeland's, Fanfare for the Common Man. Dr. Turrell had a pivotal moment that led to his studies and aquiring of BA in Music and a career as a professional musician and a music teacher.
In 1983, after eight years of teaching, he was called to a life in spiritual service. He left the world of teaching public school and became a full-time minister in Cape Coral, Florida.
Over the last twenty five years, Dr. James Turrell has earned his Doctorate of Religious Science, written five books and in 1984, founded the Costa Mesa Center for Spiritual Discovery, where he currently serves as lead minister.
Dr. Turrell is noted for his sense of humor and tireless interest in helping people live an inspired peaceful life. He is a gifted minister who helps his students discover, develop and enhance their spiritual path.
